Buddha’s Berry Tea: A Meditative Green Tea & Indian Tulsi
This inspired blend of green tea is vegetal, fruity, and peppery. Our selection of Spring Green tea typically has mild, fruity scents with a vegetal, slightly astringent body. This is blended with three distinct types of Indian Tulsi, or Holy Basil, which has a flavor relative to anise or clove. While there is no “berry” in this blend, there is a hint of blackberry leaves. Blackberry leaves usually have a pleasant fruity flavor as they steep, with only a mild herbal bitterness.
Tasting Notes:
- Top Note: Vegetal
- Middle Note: Slightly astringent
- Finishing Note: Grassy and delicate
Buddha’s Berry tea offers a balanced and refreshing flavor profile, perfect for a calming and meditative experience.
Benefits of Buddha’s Berry Tea
Center yourself with this harmonious blend of green tea, Tulsi (Holy Basil), and blackberry leaves. Green tea stimulates the mind while Tulsi supports a healthy immune system and empowers mental energy. Our Buddha’s Berry is one of our favorite blends, using some of the finest Spring Green tea and a tantalizingly refreshing three-blend of Indian Tulsi.
Green Tea:
Green tea originates from China but has been associated with many different cultures throughout Asia. Its popularity has only continued to grow in the west. There are many different varieties of green tea, each differing greatly due to their growing conditions, horticulture, the production process, and of course, the time of year they are harvested.
Our Green Tea, also known as Guo Lu, is harvested from first flush spring buds in Anhui Province. Green tea is high in antioxidants and rich with polyphenol antioxidants called catechins, including EGCG. The leaves of Guo Lu are dark and twisted. They are processed through hand rolling and pan frying, giving Guo Lu a toasted flavor with a delicate plum finish. Because of its delicate flavor, it makes for a great tea blend, making it a perfect base for our Buddha’s Berry Tea.
Tulsi (Holy Basil):
We incorporate all three Tulsi types in our green tea: Krishna Tulsi, Vana Tulsi, and Rama Tulsi. Tulsi is considered to be a tonic for the body, mind, and spirit. It has therapeutic value and is high in Vitamin A, C, and many other nutrients. Commonly used in Ayurvedic medicine, Tulsi is also an important symbol of the Hindu religion.
Ideal Consumption Time
Buddha’s Berry tea is ideal for starting your morning or before a workout session. Trading a morning cup of coffee with a cup of Buddha’s Berry is a great way to kick off the day. One tablespoon brews 2-3 strong cups.
